KRISHNA DEVI GIRLS DEGREE COLLEGE LUCKNOW was recognized and affiliated with the University of Lucknow in the year 1973-74 and since then the said institution is continuously striving and working hard for achieving our vision of spreading knowledge in the society. Education leads to an opening of new horizons on the intellectual and knowledge plan. It is a paramount factor that contributes significantly to nation building. India’s knowledge pool has been a key factor in NATION’S global competitiveness and development at great pace. This is purely down to progress in the field of education. Ironically, however in our nation, education for women has remained a neglected zone. As Kofi Annan has said "Educating girls is not an option, but a necessity". Krishna Devi Girls Degree College is trying its level best to provide education to girls in safe and healthy atmosphere because its aim is to provide all possible opportunities to the girls of our region, so that their inner talent can be nurtured producing responsible, sensible, confident girls and women of Society.
I can not forget Late Smt. Krishna Devi w/o Late Shri Ganga Narayan Shah, the then manager of the college, who derived the institution very successfully till her last breath and after her sad demise in the year 1992, I shouldered the responsibility of the college as a manager as well as legal adviser. It gives me immense pleasure and great pride in conveying my best wishes to the Principal, Smt. Rekha Bhatnagar, all learned lecturers and all members of non teaching staff who always provides, full cooperation due to which the institution is running smoothly and has risen to great heights, earning a name both at the national and international level. Indeed it is very creditable that without any discrimination the college upholds the ideals of social equality, discipline, devotion to duty and enlightenment. I assure to serve the institution honestly, sincerely and faithfully till I am on the chair in accordance with the Law of Universities in U.P. as well as FIRST STATUTES OF THE UNIVERSITY OF LUCKNOW 1975.
